Becoming a private home carer

COVID-19 has led many people to reassess and evaluate what they want from their careers. Perhaps you’ve realised that your work no longer makes you happy, that it doesn’t gel with your values, or you’ve simply got no job security?

In the meantime, with all we’ve been through since March 2020, health and social care have deservedly been significantly more valued to keep people safe and independent in their homes.

We are getting busier & busier as more than ever our services are being recommended to friends & family. We are also being approached by more people regarding our personal assistant caring roles.

We’re now looking for outstanding private home carers who care with compassion & will go the extra mile for our clients.

We can train you if you have no caring experience. If you are interested in joining our caring family & you have a full driving licence & good written & spoken English, please read this and then contact us.

Are you interested in becoming a home carer?

Being a carer with us is very rewarding and can easily fit around your lifestyle.

You can live in with the person you care for or you can work part-time or full time visiting clients on a set number of days a week. You can help them with practical daily tasks such as cooking meals or helping with the laundry or washing up. You can also keep someone company, or accompany them to social events like dancing or the cinema. Clients may also need your help to support their personal care to get ready for the day or to go to bed.

According to the Kings Fund –

“More people work in adult social care than you might think. There are thousands of organisations all across the country employing lots and lots of people…social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, or registered managers and supervisors. But the vast majority of people that work in adult social care are care workers for home care agencies or in care homes, residential or nursing.”

You can be a carer with no previous professional caring experience

If you’ve ever looked after someone else – a family member, parent, child or friend, and you are a kind, friendly and caring person then you have the transferable skills you need to be a carer with Great Park Homecare.

We’d particularly like to hear from you if you are patient, sensitive, calm, good at problem-solving and have a good sense of humour – these all help!

How do we work?

We create care packages for all our clients

First of all, our Care Manager visits the home of the person who needs care. She asks some important questions as it’s critical for us to have an in-depth understanding of individuals & the specific care they need.

Once the care and support need has been agreed upon, we give our new client a care plan. This says how often they want to see us & what they’d like us to do for them.

It doesn’t matter what type of care our clients need, we always give high standards of care.

Here’s what our clients say about being cared for by us

We have many glowing testimonials – here’s just one from 2020:

“My husband is on end of life programme. Our carers have been not just first-class carers but great friends to myself and my husband, especially with this shutdown. He has survived longer than expected and I know their caring has contributed to this.”
