Mr O’s shopping trip goes from being a chore to a weekly highlight !!!`
Mr O enjoys getting out to the local supermarket for his weekly shop where he bumps into familiar faces and catches up on the latest community gossip.
Unfortunately, with mobility reducing he now uses a rollator to walk around, and shopping trips were becoming a chore. While a taxi could get him there and back, getting around the shop with a trolley and his rollator was challenging.
On the verge of seeing his world shrink a little by switching to online shopping, Mr O called Great Park Homecare to discuss what we could do.
Now, we go to collect Mr O and before setting off go through his fridge & freezer to eliminate any out-of-date goods and make sure his shopping list is complete.
Then, at the store, our carer pushes the trolley while Mr O points out what he wants and gets items off the shelf for him. The carer puts the goods through the checkout and bags them up.
Often, Mr O and our carer will then stop off at a local cafe for a coffee and slice of cake, before our carer gets Mr O home, where they then unpack the shopping for him.
So, instead of losing contact with his community and exercise, his weekly shop has switched from being a chore to being the highlight of his week.

A quick rebound from a knock`
Mrs M had recently downsized from West London to Windsor and was looking forward to getting out and making new friends.
An unfortunate accident with her rollator left her with a nasty cut on her leg which became infected. This reduced her mobility ever more and Mrs M also now realised that, even in just the short term she needed assistance with bathing and dressing, while particular attention needed paying to her injury.

Our Carer visited every morning and helped Mrs M with washing & dressing, ensuring that the wound remained safe from damage.
With no long-term commitment enforced by Great Park Homecare, Mrs M knew that as soon as she was fit & able, she could end the service. So, 8 weeks later, when the wound was happily repaired, we stepped back and Mrs M picked up with successfully assimilating into her new community.

Mrs R experiences a full life despite challenges`
Married couple Mr & Mrs R find themselves in different circumstances in their lives.
While Mr R is living with Dementia, Mrs R is still living a very full life.
When at home, Mrs R supports her husband with his daily needs without any outside support.
